Dental Treatments

These are the following treatments provided by the Golden Ratio Dentistry, Gurgaon:

Cosmetic

  1. Teeth Whitening Treatment

The teeth whitening process is carried out with the use of clinically approved whitening agents that are able to break down the molecules that cause stains to be deposited in the enamel and dentin. Professional treatment is controlled, even and is aimed at minimizing sensitivity, unlike the abrasive whitening toothpastes!

  1. Dental Veneers

Veneers are individually shaped materials that cover the front teeth. Depending on your objectives, budget, and schedule, they can be made from good quality porcelain or composite resin.

Unlike full crowns, veneers involve little to no tooth preparation and are ideal for cosmetic corrections where the underlying tooth structure is healthy.

  1. Smile Makeover

A smile makeover is a combination of treatments that include veneers, whitening, crowns, bonding, orthodontics or gum contouring. All the elements are selected according to your face shape, lip line, gum display and your tastes.

  1. Diastema Treatment

A gap between teeth that is greater than normal interproximal contacts is a diastema. Gaps may occur due to mismatched size of the teeth, missing teeth, a thick labial frenum, tongue thrusting or as a natural development.

A diastema can be closed if the gap is causing the patient discomfort, affecting their speech or trapping food between their teeth, or to give them a more cosmetically pleasing smile.

Restorative

  1. Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment (RCT) also referred to as Root Canal Therapy or Endodontic Treatment is a procedure which is performed to save an infected or heavily damaged tooth. The internal structure of teeth is soft tissue, which contains nerves and blood vessels (pulp). If the pulp is exposed to bacteria due to deep decay, cracks in the tooth, multiple previous dental treatments, or injury, the pulp becomes infected and leads to pain.

While at the same time, the infected pulp is carefully removed, the root canals are cleaned and disinfected, and the tooth is sealed off from future infection. Following this, a dental crown is usually needed to restore the tooth's strength, function and appearance.

The treatment does not involve extraction of the tooth and it can save your tooth for many years.

  1. Dental Crowns

Crown (or "cap") is a specially shaped covering which is cemented into place over a prepared tooth. Porcelain, zirconia, metal-ceramic or gold alloy are used to create the crown, depending on the tooth's function and location.

The most common treatment for a root canal is a crown and crowns are also used to fill large fractures, wear and misshapen teeth.

  1. Dental Bridges

A bridge is a restoration with one or more artificial teeth supported by natural teeth (abutments) on either side. Bridges are fixed and like real teeth.

When neighboring teeth require crowns or implant surgery is not desired, Bridges are a proven and successful treatment method that is relatively inexpensive.

  1. Tooth Filling

A filling is used to replace the part of the tooth structure that has been lost due to decay. The infected area is removed and the area is cleaned and filled with a biocompatible composite resin that cures with a curing light.

Modern composite fillings are mercury free, they adhere to the tooth, and are colored to match your tooth for an invisible repair.

  1. Full Mouth Rehabilitation

Full mouth rehabilitation (FMR) treats complex cases where teeth, gums, bite alignment and jaw joints all require treatment. It's not a single procedure, but rather a series of restorative, prosthetic and sometimes orthodontic procedures.

The aim is to restore a normal bite at the most appropriate vertical dimension while creating an esthetic smile that is your smile.

Orthodontics

  1. Braces Treatment

Braces are made of brackets (which are glued to each tooth) and an arch wire that exerts a gentle pull on the teeth, moving them over time. The use of elastic bands can correct the relationship of the upper and lower jaws.

Today's braces are more comfortable and efficient than ever and coming in ceramics that match the color of the teeth is less noticeable.

  1. Invisalign/Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are thin, transparent plastic trays molded to fit snugly over your teeth. Each set is used for approximately 1-2 weeks and then the next set in the series is used, which will move teeth and so on.

Unlike fixed braces, you can take aligners out to eat, brush your teeth, and wear them for special occasions.

Surgical

  1. Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction is the process of removing the tooth from the socket in the jaw. This could be a simple extraction of visible teeth, or a surgical extraction of a broken tooth, or an impacted tooth, below the gum line.

Once extracted, we talk about options for replacement, including implants, bridges or dentures, to prevent other teeth shifting.

  1. Wisdom Tooth Removal

Adults typically have four wisdom teeth in the rear of their mouths. Modern jaws are often smaller than ancestral jaws, so teeth often do not have sufficient space to erupt properly.

If a tooth that needs to be removed (wisdom tooth) becomes impacted, it can damage the adjacent teeth, trap food and bacteria, and cause cysts or gum infections (pericoronitis).

  1. Dental Implants

An implant consists of three components: the titanium part that holds the implant in place (root), the abutment (connector), and the implant's crown (top). The titanium fuses with the jaw bone by osseointegration, which establishes a stable base that can last for life.

Single tooth, implant bridge or full arch of teeth with implant-retained dentures.

Preventive

  1. Teeth Cleaning (Scaling & Polishing)

Scaling involves ultrasonic instruments and hand tools that are used to loosen tartar and plaque from the tooth surface and under the gum line and remove them. Polishing is next, which buffs the teeth to make the plaque less likely to stick.

It is painless and a non-invasive procedure, and usually does not require any kind of anaesthetic unless there are deep pockets in the gums.

  1. Gum Disease Treatment (Pyorrhea)

Gum disease is a persistent, bacterial infection of the gum tissue around the teeth. Gingivitis is a gum disease that can be cured. In periodontitis (pyorrhea) the periodontal ligament and jawbone are damaged and these pockets accumulate bacteria which in turn leads to the formation of pockets.

If left untreated, teeth can loosen and even fall out.

  1. Sensitive Teeth Treatment

Dentin is covered with a protective layer of enamel in healthy teeth. If enamel is thin or gums recede, dentin tubules allow nerve fibres to come into contact with the outside world, resulting in sudden pain.

Common causes include acidic foods, hard brushing, grinding of teeth, whitening products and untreated cavities.

Emergency

  1. Tooth Pain Treatment

Odontalgia (tooth pain) is an indication of a problem within or around the tooth. The severity and nature of the pain (shooting, throbbing, constant or temperature induced) aid in determining the cause.

Routine professional assessment will help avoid small problems from becoming big emergency extraction or hospital calls.

  1. Emergency Dental Care

A dental emergency is any oral condition that requires urgent treatment to prevent bleeding, immediate pain relief or to save a tooth. Delaying to an appointment may cause permanent damage or systemic infection.

  1. Dental Sports Injury

The injuries associated with sports can vary from chips in the enamel to avulsion of the entire tooth. Contact sports (such as cricket, football, basketball and martial arts) are the most dangerous, but accidents can occur in any sport.

Prompt first aid and dental care can make a huge difference — particularly in the case of knocked out permanent teeth!

Prosthetic

Dentures

  • Dentures are removable prostheses and substitute for missing teeth and gum tissue. Full dentures are dentures that fit to the upper or lower jaw, replacing all teeth in that row, whilst partial dentures are dentures that fit to the upper or lower jaw, replacing just some of the teeth in that row.
  • Modern dentures are more natural and comfortable to wear than dentures of previous generations because of modern materials and manufacturing processes.

Kids

Pediatric Dentistry

  • Pediatric dentistry is the area of dentistry that treats the oral health of infants, children and adolescents. This covers preventive care, cavity treatment, habit counseling (thumb sucking, pacifier use) and management of dental development problems.
  • Indian Dental Association advises that the child's first dental visit should be made within six months of the first tooth appearing or by the age of one.

Special Care

Geriatric Dentistry

  • Geriatric dentistry is a part of dentistry that specializes in the oral health problems faced by the elderly. It covers age related changes to teeth, gums, oral tissues and the effects of dental disease on systemic disease such as diabetes, heart disease and osteoporosis.
  • Treatment is mapped out with extra consideration for comfort, drug interactions, and senior living considerations.

This is where we came across Getwellgo. They not only helped us in the entire treatment process but also took care of my family in a strange country.
